Street Report #10 – Repenting

Met Laura at church and we had a 20 minute counselling session.

She is upset that people in her street at Werribee are trying to run her life for her and giving her bad advice. Seems the person who drives her to us to do her new community hours (she got another 3 months of intensive order instead of prison) is cleansing his soul through her. He is an alleged past “bikie” member and is repenting through her and hence driving her to insanity. Had a talk to him and explained there were other ways to cleanse his soul without harassing Laura. Suggested he work at Sacred Heart in Nth. Melbourne in their kitchen serving out food instead of lecturing Laura re her alcoholism considering he was an alcoholic himself.

Went to St. Kilda and there were heaps of people out in the street. Some were inebriated others on their own poison. Met up with Brad again who we used to look after 2 years ago. He was doing well he stated till he started self medicating a few months ago and didn’t notice his spirall downwards again till it was too late and he hears voices again in his head telling him to kill his father and others. He is trying hard not to loose it and hence not too hurt anyone. He is staying at the Gatwick as he has used up his chances at staying at Hanover, and other places.

Gave out food and it went very quickly. Extremely quickly, so I went to the bakery and bought another 15 chicken rolls and gave them out as well.
